Focus: Moving around obstacles; basic balances. 

Week 3 

Ball Skills (Rolling & Catching). Participate in team games; simple tactics; hand–eye coordination.
Focus: Rolling accuracy; two-hand catch; soft equipment. 

Week 4

Ball Skills (Throwing & Aiming). Develop object control; engage in competitive activities.
Focus: Underarm throw; aiming at targets. 

Week 5 

Striking Skills (Introduction to Striking Games). Team games; manipulating equipment safely.
Focus: Striking a stationary ball.

Week 6 

Kicking Skills (Football-Type Activities). Master basic movements & object control.
Focus: Dribbling, stopping a ball, gentle passing.

Gymnastics: Shapes & Balances. Develop balance & control; perform simple sequences.
Focus: Body shapes; holding balances; travelling on hands/feet.

Gymnastics: Rolling & Simple Sequences. Develop balance/agility; link movements.
Focus: Log roll, egg roll, teddy bear roll.

Agility, Balance & Coordination (ABC) + Intro to Multisport. Movement variety, space awareness. Pupils move safely in space, change direction, stop/start.

 Throwing & Catching (Handball / T-Ball foundations). Underarm and overarm throwing. Accurate throws, soft catches, partner work. 

Week 3 

Kicking & Dribbling (Football Skills). Ball control with feet. Can stop, dribble, pass with inside of foot.

Week 4

 Balances & Shapes - Body control, shapes (tuck, star, straight, dish/arch).
Outcome. Hold still balances and create sequences. 

Week 5 

Rolls & Travelling - Safe rolling, smooth movement. Perform log roll, egg roll; explore direction changes.

 Week 6

Jumping & Landing Focus: Controlled landings from height. Use bend-land-freeze technique.

Week 7 

Invasion Games: Dodging & Tag Rugby. Evasion, carrying, movement into space. Dodge effectively, understand simple attacking tactics.

Week 8

 Net/Wall: Striking With Hand (Intro to Tennis)Focus: Hand-eye coordination, controlled striking. Tap ball upward, push-pass ball to partner.

Week 9 

Hockey-Style Games (Using plastic sticks)Focus: Dribbling, pushing, stopping ball.
Outcomes: Maintain control in straight lines & around cones.

Week 10 

Striking & Fielding. (Cricket/Rounders)Focus: Underhand bowling, simple batting strikes. Hit stationary ball; run safely between bases.

Week 11 

Dance (Pattern, Rhythm, Expression)Focus: Respond to music, create simple sequences. Perform repeated patterns with flow.

 Introduction to Multi-Sports & Fundamentals of Movement - Introduction to basic movement skills (running, jumping, throwing, catching).

Throwing and catching skills using different types of balls. Week 2 Football – Dribbling and Passing - Football fundamentals – dribbling, passing, and teamwork. Passing drills, including short passes and long passes. Week 3 Basketball – Shooting and Dribbling -  Introduction to basketball skills – dribbling and shooting. Focus on proper shooting technique (form shooting). Week 4 Rugby – Passing and Tackling - Basic rugby skills – passing, tackling, and teamwork. Simple passing and support running. Week 5 Athletics – Sprinting and Relay Races - Sprinting, baton exchange, and relay races. Focus on running posture, speed, and teamwork in relays. Week 6 Cricket – Batting and Bowling - Introduction to cricket – batting, bowling, and fielding.

Basic batting technique, underarm bowling, and fielding (catching and stopping). Week 7 Netball – Passing and Shooting - Netball skills – passing, shooting, and team play. Focus on shooting technique, positioning, and teamwork. Week 8 Tennis – Forehand, Backhand, and Serving - Tennis skills – forehand, backhand, and serving. Serving and rallying with partners. Week 9 Hockey – Dribbling and Passing - Hockey fundamentals – dribbling, passing, and shooting.

Focus on accurate passing and ball control with the stick. Week 10 Rounders – Batting, Bowling, and Fielding. Focus on hand-eye coordination and team strategies. Week 11 Volleyball – serving, passing, and team communication. Focus on positioning, passing, and teamwork. Week 12  Multi-Sports Festival & Reflection - Celebrate the skills learned through a multi-sport event and reflect on progress. Reflection on skills learned and improvement.

Basketball Skills - Dribbling, Passing, and Shooting. Defensive and offensive strategies (e.g., man-to-man defence, fast breaks).

Gymnastics and Balance - Flexibility, Balance, and Coordination. Basic gymnastics routines (forward rolls, cartwheels, balance beam work). Focus on body control and strength.

Hockey Skills - Dribbling, Passing, and Shooting with a Stick. Defensive and attacking roles, team formation.

Week 6

Athletics – Running & Jumping. Sprinting, Long Jump, and Relay Races. Focus on running form, jumping technique, and teamwork in relays.

Week 7

Tennis Skills - Racket Control, Volleying, and Serving. Focus on precision and agility.

Week 8

Dance & Movement - Coordination, Rhythm, and Expression. Focus on rhythm, creativity, and body coordination.

Week 9

Rugby Skills - Passing, Tackling, and Teamwork. Basic attack and defence principles.

Week 10

 Health and Fitness – Strength Training and Bodyweight Exercises Focus: Developing strength and fitness using bodyweight exercises, focusing on proper technique and body awareness. Fitness & Conditioning – Focus on strength, flexibility, and balance and endurance through exercises that work on multiple muscle groups.

Week 11

Orienteering & Outdoor Skills - Map Reading, Navigation, and Problem Solving. Working in teams to find checkpoints and solve clues.

Week 12

Sports Festival / Competition Day - Application of Skills in a Competitive Context.  A mini sports festival featuring a combination of all the sports from the past weeks (e.g., football, basketball, rugby, athletics). A mix of skills competitions (dribbling, shooting, relays) and team challenges.

Introduction to Multi-Sports & Team Building - Understanding rules, teamwork, and communication. Short relays incorporating various sports skills, such as running, dribbling, and passing. Cooperation, listening, understanding sport rules.

Football - Dribbling, passing, shooting, and teamwork. Focus on controlling the ball while moving. Ball control, teamwork, passing, communication.

Week 3

Basketball - Dribbling, shooting, passing, and defence.  Use various shooting techniques (layups, jump shots, free throws).  Ball handling, teamwork, shooting accuracy, defence.

Week 4

Tag Rugby - Passing, running with the ball, team strategy. Passing and Tagging Drills: Focus on quick, accurate passing and defensive tagging. Decision-making, team strategy, communication.

Week 5

Tennis - Forehand, backhand, serving, and footwork. Practice hitting against the wall or with a partner. Hand-eye coordination, footwork, serving, communication.

Week 6

Gymnastics - Balance, coordination, flexibility, and strength. Work on stability using different apparatus. Balancing, flexibility, rolling, and jumping.

Week 7

Cricket - Batting, bowling, fielding, and teamwork
Activities. Focus on technique and accuracy, catching, throwing, and positioning.  Hand-eye coordination, batting technique, teamwork, fielding.

Week 8

Athletics (Track & Field) - Running, jumping, throwing, and coordination. Short sprints and team relay races for speed and coordination.
Speed, endurance, jumping technique, throwing accuracy.

Week 9

Hockey - Dribbling, passing, shooting, and defence. Focus on close control and passing. Ball control, teamwork, passing, shooting, defence.

Week 10

Badminton - Racket skills, footwork, and serving. Practice clear shots, drop shots, and net play.
Hand-eye coordination, footwork, racket control.

Week 11

Volleyball - Serving, passing, setting, and spiking
Activities. Focus on accuracy and technique. Work on consistency and power.
Teamwork, passing, setting, spiking.

Week 12

Multi-Sports Festival (End of Programme) - Celebration of learning, showcasing skills
Leadership, teamwork, self-assessment, multi-sport integration.
